Any dedicated flightsim controller worth buying comes with its own software to program commands into it.

This is best done by making a custom keyboard profile (see below). So, the primary goal is to pick out only the commands you will actually use and assign a keyboard key, a combination of keyboard keys, or a controller button to (вЂњcontrollerвЂќ here means joystick, yoke, HOTAS, throttle, button panel, mouse, Xbox gamepad, whatever). As you will quickly notice, you will rarely if ever have a need for the vast bulk of these commands or canвЂ™t use them until the relevant DLC (gliders, helicopters, live weapons, etc.) comes along. Then expand each group of commands in turn. To see all possible commands, go to Options/Controls/Keyboard/Default and set the filter to ALL.

Assigning an input (be it keyboard key(s), controller buttons, or controller axis) to a pre-existing command, and making it вЂњstickвЂќ, is what this is all about.

So, as I see this as a pressing issue for many, IвЂ™m posting it here.

Some games only support DS4 controllers or DS4 controller rumble when using SteamвЂ™s Playstation Configuration Support.NOTE: I wanted to make this a guide and applied to do so but havenвЂ™t ever heard back.

Most games only have working rumble when using Xbox controllers even if the game supports both Xbox and DualShock 4 controllers.

If they donвЂ™t work there then itвЂ™s a hardware issue with your controller or you have a third-party / copy-cat controller that doesnвЂ™t have rumble or does not work with DS4Windows

Still on the Other tab test there if both your motors are working.

Check on your profile settingsвЂ™ Other tab if the rumble is not at 0%.

Keep in mind that these features may or may not work well with games in this version and support will not be given to users that arenвЂ™t to the latest version

The last version to have these features enabled was v3.0.10.

The issue causes the controller to occasionally not stop rumbling or to set wrong lightbar colors.

Because of an issue with the ViGEmBus, DS4Windows has disabled support for rumble and the Lightbar passthru mode when using virtual DS4 controllers.

Rumble and lightbar passthrough are currently disabled when DS4 emulation is active

If possible, when the random camera movement is perceived mid-game try to quickly alt-tab and test this to check the stick position.

Sometimes the drift appears or disappears randomly, making it hard to properly confirm if the stick is 100% OK

ItвЂ™s recommended to make this test MANY TIMES and at different periods.

Even if it appears to be centered, try moving it to different positions and let it snap back to the center on its own many times to fully confirm itвЂ™s properly functioning.

Values above +/- 0.08 are enough to cause drifting issues on DS4Windows default settings

With this profile active, open the Gamepad Tester Website and verify if your stick is correctly centered when at a resting position.

Select this profile on the main Controllers tab everytime you want to test your real stick behavior.

Set both the dead zone and anti dead zone to 0.00 in this new profile for both sticks (LS and RS).

Make this profileвЂ™s name вЂњstick position testвЂќ.

Create a new profile and choose one of the Gamepad Presets DS4Windows recommends.
